You will be amazed by the nature at Black Orchard. The woods are alive with birds, there are badgers in the woods and raptors fly overhead. Watch the birds come to the feeder at the Bothy, or take advantage of the dedicated photographic bird hide. The hide can be booked separately, so is available to Bothy guests before/after hide users and any time it isn't booked.
Within easy reach of Black Orchard are a selection of Nature Reserves hosting rare plants and insects as well as birds, WWT Llanelli, the popular bird-watching spots of Burry Port and Kidwelly Quays, and, of course, the beach at Pembrey where large numbers of waterfowl such as common scoters can be seen, especially in winter. Bring your binoculars (or borrow ours) for a bird-watching bonanza!
